Hi, sorry we haven't worked the exact band application timescales out yet. We're thinking of doing it slightly earlier than in previous years, so we can give overseas bands more notice. I don't think the closing deadline would be any earlier than mid-November, so you'll have at least until then.

First year since 2011 I won't be able to make it. Already feeling sad, and jealous of everyone who's going!

Since both Emma Kupa and Amelia Fletcher are going to play, I think it would be ace if they put Darren Hayman on the bill as well. His set could be legendary if he got both of them to guest!

A question - would The Go! Team be the first hip-hop act to play indietracks? Just curious.

Well, based on a pretty miserly definition (people rapping over samples), I don't find it that hard to defend, though I suppose if we were defining indiepop (and, y'know, let's not), I don't think I'd find it too hard to fit them into the folds of that either, whatever it is. For the record, and not that it matters in the slightest what I think, but I think it's a really good choice.

So, yeah, question stands. Like I said, I was curious, anything to play with the big kids in the indietracks threads, basically.

all I'm saying is I don't think they're hip hop in the sense that hip hop heads would see them as such, there's clearly influences from hip hop but what I love about the go! team is their influences are all over the place and what they make is 'go! team music' rather than this, that or the other music...

there have been bands with a similar approach, loosely speaking, who draw elements from all over, that have played indietracks... stereo total, that was pretty fucking awesome, and la casa azul, I think there's a few jaws (and draws) still dropped over that turn... not hip hop as such (or at all) but not guitars, drums and that trad band thing

There are a lot of Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky influences in the Sweet Nothings if you listen closely enough.

Just realised that the only Go! Team record I know is the first one. I think it's the first one anyway. The one with "Ladyflash" on it. I must rectify this.
