If you mean that new Sheffield band, there'd be a lot of confused Swedish indiepop fans if they do play!

I'm sure I told Andy out of Nixon that he'd borrowed a name from a Brazilian indiepop band on a Swedish label. Cuh, I dunno, people who choose a band name despite knowing that it's already in use by another band. They're the WORST.

I can remember Interesting Andy getting really wound up by Flowers calling themselves that because there was already a band called The Flowers who did some Peel sessions in the 80s before splitting up. He refused to listen to them because they couldn't be bothered to come up with an original name.

Anyway:

Flowers
Twerps

Tonieee reminded me the other day that the above line-up is incomplete with Salle Pierre Lamy. And indeed it is.

So, Salle Pierre Lamy as well.

Wait a second, there was another Nixon who isn't Roger Gunnarsson and they were signed to a Swedish label?! The plot thickens!

I think it really annoys me because Roger is a proper indiepop legend.

Ah, I'm probably getting 'em confused. I'M 92 YOU KNOW.

Don't get your Nixons in a twist.

I'm sure that the Sheffield Nixon will be a Futurama reference, in which case they should consider changing the name to NNNIXONNN or something.

What do they sound like, anyway? I've not heard them yet. Do they do pop?

Haha, i've always found Futurama boring and unfunny as hell. I've really got off on the wrong foot with this band.

I'd like to see Lambchop perform the album 'Nixon' in full at Indietracks.

Turns out there's a Nixon album which you can stream/download for free by clicking here. Who knew?

I actually really like it so far, even though Andy off Japanese Sleepers is in the band (and we are pretend enemies).
