Indietracks 2017 album recommendations

Post by brunser » Thu Apr 13, 2017 1:27 pm

Hi,

I am going to Indietracks for the first time this year. Looking forward to seeing The Wave Pictures, Martha, The Tuts and Grace Petrie in particular. However, there are a few bands who I'm not so familiar with who have huge back catalogues. Could people suggest the best place to start with the bands below? Ideally, their most accessible album or the album (or two) that is likely to make up their set! A tricky task or know, but with some bands I literally don't know where to start!

The Wedding Present
The Orchids
MJ Hibbett
Milky Wimpshake

Or anyone else that has an extensive back catalogue!! Thanks in advance!

My favourites:

Wedding Present: George Best & Seamonsters

The Orchids: Lyceum

MJ Hibbett: everything but especially This Is Not A Library

Milky Wimpshake: again any of them but especially the albums Bus Route To Your Heart and Lovers Not Fighters and the songs Milk Maid and True Love Will Find You In The End/Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste.

Hibbett really needs a Best Of compilation.

But yeah, what Tonieee said.

What you're *really* saying is "Could the following selection of bands please spend the next week or so selecting [arguing with each other about] songs for a Best Of Spotify Playlist" aren't you?

If so: ON IT!

If there is a band clash at the festival then this is the type of thing that would sway me to watch your set over someone else's!
