Cycling across the UK before Indietracks ... Anyone on my way for a lift, shower, beer, records listening session ?

Cycling across the UK before Indietracks ... Anyone on my way for a lift, shower, beer, records listening session ?

Hi everyone !

Just like I did last year with South of England and Wales, I have decided to spend my holidays cycling across Scotland and some parts of the North of England before heading to Ripley where I'll be glad and honored to be part of the volunteers crew once again !

What brings me here is that I was thinking of doing some couchsurfing or warmshowers for the few days to come but since I'm too lazy to search profiles for hours and don't even have a smartphone (which is not great to make arrangements), I was wondering if some other indietrackers would be on my way soon ? I don't plan to act as a freeloader of course, but it would be great to share at least a tea, cakes, or music AND if you feel like it (I feel guilty to ask because I don't want to sound as a freeloader ... I'm not rich but I'd be happy to offer beers or "try" to cook something tasty) a bed/shower would be awesome as well !

I'm currently - the 19th - in Glasgow, then I take a train to Newcastle to begin cycling along Hadrian's Wall tomorrow, heading to the Lake District. I'm not too sure of where I'll be on the 27th or 28th, but if anyone's going South with room in his/her car, that would be fantastic too (otherwise no worries, I'll take a train to Derby like I did last year)

Cheers, looking forward to meeting new mates and hear loads of great music (Scotland's weather put and end to my mp3 player's misery so it'll be more welcome than ever !!!)

P

ps : according to the tons of rain I've had over the last couple of weeks, I'm sure there's nothing left in the clouds for the rest of Summer all around the country ! And hopefully - as far as I remember - there are no bloody midges in the Derbyshire !

No worries Duanne, we'll probably meet at the festival !
I'm n Preston today, not the most exciting city on first impression (sorry, don't want to offend any locals !) ... But at least I've got a connection and I can see that full sun is expected on Saturday and Sunday :)

Thanks Humblebee ! I can't say it was fun every day (lots of headwind and heavy rain) but the people on the road were lovely and I love UK's tradition of pies, tea and cakes ! All in all it's was way tougher than I expected but it made Indietracks even more enjoyable I guess :)
