oh and is everyone going to the puddle show that evening too? if so maybe a pub closer to the kings arms would make more sense.

yeah i'm free friday evening too. i just figured people would be going to the puddle show anyway, so it would probably end up being an informal anorak meet up anyway.

...as opposed to the formal anorak meet ups where we all wear tuxedoes and discuss items from the official anorak meetup agenda.

Thursday Puddle gig and Friday meetup would be lovely.

Thanks Kris. I might have to work late tomorrow. If so, I shall see you in the Kings Arms later on.

anyone going to gladeyes' carpenters tribute at d.o.c tonight? they're only playing records, but could be cool anyhow.

btw, any experiences from 'teenage kicks'? the poster seems since nice enough, but i'm a bit suspicious. apparently it's on every wednesday at cassette 9.

Oh, the Carpenters thing is tonight? Bobbins, I wanted to go but tonight is not going to work even a little bit. Gah!

I haven't been to Teenage Kicks but, if it's the one I'm thinking of, it looks like much more of an Emily thing than a Markie thing. It is the one with all the Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, general mainstream "indie" stuff on the poster, right?

The way work is going at the moment I'll probably want to go for a drink EVERY night this week. :(

How's about Thursday? At that political bar on Anzac that the Grumpmeister mentioned a few posts earlier in this thread?

We can help Emily celebrate the passing of her restricted driving test.

BTW Michael, don't forget to PM me your mobile number.

I was thinking about maybe going to that Grouper gig on Thursday, but am kind of looking for an excuse not to - so this should do nicely.

Kris! Are you still planning on going to Grouper?

i'm listening to grouper's most recent album just now. if you like albums called things like "dragging a dead dear up a hill" this one's definitely for you. even if you don't (like me) it's actually really good stuff. and she's come all the way from portland!

so if i don't have any 'other' commitments i'm going on to that. that either gives you the opportunity to gossip behind my back, or to choose another day to meet up! i know you're just waiting to jeer at the swedes :)

I heard that Friday is the new second Sunday after Epiphany - that will work very nicely for me and Emily. Same venue?

I don't think I fancy seeing Grouper - I read a blurb that compared her/them to My Bloody Valentine which always puts me off bands. And besides, there has never been a decent band in whole history of music with a name ending in "er" (discuss...)

Snapper are the only band I can think of. I quite like Dimmer, but not that much.

There however quite a few good "ers", such as The Modern Lovers, New Pornagraphers, Palace Brothers, Carpenters.

interesting.....

Anyway Friday's good. I think Alexis' is maybe going to some riot grrrl poetry thing on Thursday, so Friday's good for her too.
