I love this new album sooo much! It could be my favourite Tullycraft album. Did I really just say that?

Echo these comments. Its a great album - classic Tullycraft, but better!

I just got my order in at Pebble Records for the LP. I'm really looking forward to this.

Is this about the time to say you can order the cassette (with download) from the Fika shop? We've just about finished hand making all 100 and they're looking lovely. Comes with all the usual nonsense I do for these cassettes!

In the end I couldn't resist and preordered the cassette...

anybody want to commit with me to deciphering the lyrics from the LP?

I think this is "Lost in Light Rotation"

martin sang to themselves on the radio
bulletproof tell the girls say they gotta go
draw the line from the minx to the maginot
(we know! we know!)

trade the myth for the truth
tend to overrate
the working knowledge of the rock and roll your parents hate
turn it up turn it up on the solid state
(we know! we know!)

sew the patches on your sleeve and claim they are a fact
Bowery boys love you once, they don't want you back
count the names you've replaced in the photograph
(we know! we know!)

never took the time to learn the slang that we speak
or the slogans on the t-shirt
never took the time to read the map to avoid all the fake diy traps!

raygun! raygun!
can we just change the station?
when you're lost in light rotation
you're not fast enough to keep up with the...

with your broken reputation
you're not fast enough to keep up with the girls

seen enough to be done at the vatteville
and now you've taken taken taken to the bitter pill
felt like you need to be a part of something bigger still

second time when you find you were overheard
caught you singing, heard you singing almost every word
skipped it once, skipped it twice, then you skipped the third!

Elks Lodge Riot
we counted cracks on the ceiling as the moonlight split the pines
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
we hadn't paid much attention as the car crossed county lines
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
til we dialed to the station on the outpost radio
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
it wouldn't make much difference if the viceroy hadda known
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)

between the moonlight
and the door
it didn't feel right
anymore

we counted cracks on the ceiling as the moonlight split the pines

despite the vows we had taken
for the first time there was doubt
we took the bombs to the basement
and the dancehall records out

i doubt we'll leave on this train this train
i don't believe a word you say
i doubt we'll leave on this train this train

i doubt we'll leave on this train this train
i don't believe a word you say
i doubt we'll leave on this train this train

too quiet too quiet
throwing pebbles at the elks lodge riot
too quiet too quiet
throwing pebbles at the elks lodge riot
make a promise to me next time or get out

we counted cracks on the ceiling as the moonlight split the pines
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
we make a lie for attention if we lose sight of the lines
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
i watch the rain from behind us as the cracks grow in the mirror
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)
in a rich pool of neon we were both faced with the fear
(shut up! shut up! shut up!)

between the moonlight
and the door
it didn't feel right
anymore

we counted cracks on the ceiling as the moonlight split the pines

despite the vows we had taken
for the first time there was doubt
we took the bombs to the basement
and the dancehall records out

i doubt we'll leave on this train this train
i don't believe a word you say
i doubt we'll leave on this train this train

i doubt we'll leave on this train this train

too quiet too quiet
we're throwing pebbles at the elks lodge riot
too quiet too quiet
we're throwing pebbles at the elks lodge riot
make a promise to me next time or get out

i hadn't been downtown
since the lights went out
and the darkness on the street
and you may not recognize me
when we meet

(i am not positive on jenny's verse)

Agincourt
Francine
finer points careen
on a second hand drum machine
still i never minded

i misspoke
start a fire without much smoke
you can take you can take a joke
til the words ignited

i always wave from the window when you walk past
i used to be clever but it didn't last
and the way it crowds up all night..
and they heard us singing
oh oh oh!
you don't knwo when to stop!
i keep finding all my records at the charity shop
now i'm waiting
agincourt!
oh oh oh!
you don't knwo when to stop!
i keep finding all my records at the charity shop
now i'm waiting
agincourt!

god save
god save the queen's allure
and these thoughts are not so pure
as to be reminded
this love
this love it bangs a drum
and you can take it take it take it down some
for the uninvited

i always wave from the window when you walk past
i used to be clever but it didn't last
and the way it crowds up all night..
and they heard us singing
oh oh oh!
you don't knwo when to stop!
i keep finding all my records at the charity shop
now i'm waiting
agincourt!
oh oh oh!
you don't knwo when to stop!
i keep finding all my records at the charity shop
now i'm waiting
agincourt!

i always wave from the window when you walk past
i used to be clever but it didn't last
and the way it crowds up all night..
and they heard us singing
oh oh oh!

(not sure on the second line or the third verse of the chorus)

From the Tullycraft Facebook:

For the very first time the Tullycraft album "Every Scene Needs a Center" is available on vinyl. Only 300 super limited edition yellow LPs were pressed.

You may order a copy here: http://www.magicmarkerrecords.com/tullycraft.html

I just found out that "Dracula Screams Of Tiger Style" includes a Lindsay Lohan cover, specifically the chorus from her song "Rumors."

I've had this album for 8 years but I know nothing about Lohan's musical output so I never realized that part of the song was a cover. Interestingly, there is no acknowledgment of this in the writing credits. They mention that "Misgiving" is a New Bad Things cover but otherwise just say that all songs were written by them.

Has anyone else seen Superboy and Supergirl on the Netflix show The End Of The F***ing world? It’s the first time I’ve heard a Tullycraft song on TV or anything so I was pretty excited hah.

Yes!

I couldn't place the song cos I hadn't heard it in years, but I knew I recognised it. Had to Shazam it in the end, and then executed a perfect palm/forehead slap.
