That was oddly quiet for the first 4 or 5 songs.

Had Sean forgotten to pay for the amps to be turned on or something ?

I make my apologies now to anyone that sees me at the Manchester gig tomorrow night at my stag do after being on the keg from 3pm and then after seeing Lancashire v Yorkshire in the cricket. I'll probably be a right mess by about 10pm when they take to the stage, and incomprehensibly drunk by 2am when the proceeding clubnight is in full flow.

I'm crazily looking forward to this.
Fuck your tea room.

Strictly speaking, no - they played Kentish Town Forum with The Wedding Present a few years ago. They played to quite a few people at All Tomorrow's Parties, too.

I think it is the biggest headline gig they have played in the UK so far, though.
Cheers!

This POBPAH fan blog is pretty cool. They posted our hey, linus!'s artwork for Kurt Cobain's Cardigan the other day too and gave a mention to Atomic Beat Records.

Edit - the title of the blog makes it potentially NSFW.

You weren't in too bad a state mate. Still dancing by the time we got started on the wheels of steel...

Dearest Anoraxics,

It's been a while, how goes it? While a few of you we saw at NYCPOPFEST (goodness, we were bad at Cake Shop) and sporadically in London, Berlin (Anders) and possibly Glasgow (we also played an incredibly terrible show there, I hope Collin or Pat Nevin wasn't in attendance), I thought it time to update this monstrously large thread.

We JUST finished our "We Belong in the Dollar Bin" tour and are flying back home tomorrow AM for 3 whole days of rest and relaxation (well, laundry, solitary beers and early bed times). Our deepest and sincerest thanks to everyone in Ireland, England, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Holland and Sweden who came out to our shows. It's always refreshing to see indiepop people, even if Andy from The Bartlebees has taken to dressing like a proper Metal Head/Hesher (sporting long hair, a menacing scowl and a Motorhead t-shirt).

We have a new 7" coming out for The Body - not sure if a pre-order is up anywhere yet, but the b-side is "Tomorrow Dies Today," which isn't a James Bond theme song.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2vvAck6z5c

What else... we're going on tour wit Craft Spells, Big Troubles + Twin Sister soon in the US soon. I'm not sure if they qualify as orthodox indiepop (well, it's not like we do either), but Slumberland, Captured Tracks and Domino have a pretty good track record of, well, records. Check 'em out.

You Europeans have amazing cheese. I occasionally have vague vegan [vagan] ambitions, but I don't see how that could be possible over here. Also, that GINGER BEER you English have? Why did no one tell me about that before? That's a good breakfast beer if there ever was one. I think we had one called "Crabby's" a lot (possibly the cause of our uncomfortably sedate and well documented Sheffield gig), as well as "Hollow's" while in Newcastle (a much better night, we met the legendary and appropriately monikered Pains superfan "Eleanor Payne" and Kevin Shields' guitar tech (tough job!) even seemed to approve of our performance (or at least he didn't slug me)!

Other thoughts (pics) from tour, check the PAINS TRAIN

I was at the Glasgow show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I knew you thought it was a bad show but it didn't seem like that to me. What did you think was bad about it?

Kip, why is 'the body' 7" only on PIAS and not slumberland/fortuna pop? also why is there no download code? I'm not a happy bunny at moment.

Here's a video my friend Keith made. It features really cute slow motion dogs in cars and two Pains songs.
