"Cellophane" keeps getting better and better.
I think I have become addicted to it ... could play it on an endless loop ...

Supporting Pains of being pure at heart at 8pm tonight. A difficult toss up between that and Eastenders then. Torvill and Dean has also almost sold out of our shop. Which is a bit suprising. In a good way.

I missed half the set for these on friday which was annoying, with all the bands playing I never expected them to be on as early as 8. I would've been there earlier but my friend forgot his ticket so i waited with him in the pub til someone else brought it for him.Still despite what I saw being brilliant the sound was terrible downstairs at Chorlton Irish centre and there was actually more people down there watching HSOL than the pub rock band playing the bigger room upstairs.Still over all it was a fantastic night so can't really nag.

I just heard these for the first time today on the Indietracks compilation. Aren't they just fucking gorgeous?

Were they playing that night? Bugger. I'm going to miss them at Indietracks too unless I can make it on Sunday. Gah!

Yeah, this band have grown on me massively since the first time I saw them.

I listen to Cellophane non stop at the moment - it was the B-side to the last single. Sooo good. I love that bass/ drums/ vocal intro.

I said somewhere else they remind me lots of The Organ.

And sounding rather good too. Plus Craig Gannon as a bonus!

There's some fabulous new songs on the Help Stamp Out Loneliness myspace page.
Don't know which of them to choose as my new favourite as they are all equally great.

But for now the very lovely "Tracy Tracy" comes out on top for me. But "17" is fantastic too ... and "swim" ...

Their debut album is going to be a real winner at this rate.

I also like how they inject a real sense of glamour into the indiepop genre. Their singer D Lucille dresses like the real star she deserves to become !

yo

to celebrate the physical release in SHOPS of the fantastic second single from HELP STAMP OUT LONELINESS, the february release from the FREE wiaiwya download singles club is the PACIFIC TRASH VORTEX remix ep... it's available from www.wiaiwya.com... feel free to tell all your friends, feature on your blogs, you know... all that stuff...

the first is a dub take by wiaiwya's own DJ DOWNFALL, who has been keeping himself busy albumming a new album, mixing mixes for the PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART, the PIPETTES and 'ALLO, DARLIN', and of course guitarring for TENDER TRAP... nice...
http://www.myspace.com/johndownfall

the second mix comes from the enigmatic TALL WHITE GUY, a remix producer based in Manchester, UK. He "loves all music including Finnish Heavy Metal. Recently recovered from a near suicidal tendency towards Post-Punk, Death Disco and EBM, now getting major kicks from Twee Pop, Nuggets Psychedelia and Electro Disco. Looking for friendship, remixing and maybe more."
http://tallwhiteguyremix.blogspot.com/

the 7" is available from rough trade, here:

hope you like it

When's the album due, John?

Quite by coincidence I'd been thinking about Help Stamp Out Loneliness just today and I was wondering when we could expect the album.

Still not tired of "cellophane" ...

I think of them everyday.
There should be another 7" in the autumn & the album should be done then & out sometime early next year.
Then again possibly in 2017.
One of the tracks off the 7", Swim, is on our facebook page & also a demo from the album, Angelyne.
