He said "The Hobbes Fanclub" and "Shelflife Records" about fifteen times. I think he wanted people to know :-)

I heard 'Boy from outer space' on Gideon Coe the other week, and he was really plugging the album as well. Looks like Hobbes are on the up! Or Leon's got himself a good PR man!

Ha I noticed that Ray. I've been jokingly moaning about him for two years after he played the original single version of that song in 2012 and said "I like that, I'll have to play it again sometime", but never did.

We do have Mike from HHBTM doing some press for us but I sent the CDs to the 6 Music folk myself. Its a bit mental to hear your stuff on the radio though.

Yeah I can't wait for the alldayer now, its such a great line up. We'll have LPs, CDs and T shirts to flog for those that are interested.

I was listening to Up At Lagrange today and was wondering about the collage of bands in 'I knew you'd understand' and was wondering if this was artistic licence or if there is an actual collage that Leon made and I was thinking I would like to see the collage.

There is a significant chance I have completely misheard the lyrics, mind.

That's what I heard too. I used to do the same thing, above my bed with pictures and stuff, all the way until my 20's. I'm sure I've read somewhere that Nicky Wire still does it.
And we just can't wait to make more mistakes and to fluff our breaks, and to stuff our faces with cake.

I never made the collage myself, but I went out with someone briefly a few years ago and she'd covered a chest of drawers with black and white cuttings from the NME of her favourite bands and it looked really cool. What a rip off merchant eh?

Hello Anorak, so we're very sad to announce that after our next two gigs in June, The Hobbes Fanclub will be no more. We've had a really good run but Adam and me have decided the time is right to do something else.

We've met some ace people and been to some ace places, playing alongside brilliant bands we really admire. We played New York and Paris and London, and Indietracks twice! We've been lucky to be on a brilliant label in Shelflife (and also Cloudberry and Dufflecoat) and played for some wonderful, hard working promoters. We couldn't have done any of it without the support of the labels, bloggers, promoters and you lovely people who bought our records or came to our gigs.

You're a lovely lot so it would be brilliant if as many of you as possible could come and have a drink with us at Going Up The Country in Congleton on June 13th, and/or Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 26th June with Wolf Girl and City Yelps which will be our last gig (sniff). We'll be back in different guise no doubt, but for now this is goodbye. Leon xxx

Bloody hell. I probably don't need to say again that you've been one of my favourite favourite bands of the last five years or so. I've blissfully lost myself in your music more times than I can remember. It's been utterly wonderful. Thanks for all of it, and I can't wait to hear what comes next. Good luck, whatever it is! x

Aaah that's a shame. I'll miss the Hobbes. I'll look forward to whatever you do in the future.

I was hoping to be at GUTC but it doesn't look likely now. I now have an extra incentive to make my leg heal quicker so I can make it.

Thanks for the music Hobbes. I'm very glad I got to see you play, even if it was just the one time.

Oh Leon. We'll miss you. I've had loads of proper moments listening to your songs and seeing you play. The Hobbeses were a miracle. You made the world shine. Thank you xx Will try to be at both those shows.

Echo all the above. The Hobbes Fanclub were the band I'd dream of being in if I'd even had one per cent of their talent. Still, one perfect album is so much more than most bands leave you with.

Echo all the above. Brilliant live shows and an incredible album. You're just bastards for never coming to play for me in Glasgow!

I will make sure and thoroughly enjoy the GUTC gig even more than I might have though.

Can't believe I was still posting myspace links as late as 2011. No wonder they've left us behind.

Ah, sad to hear this. We will be in Congleton, though - only just up the road from us.
