Candy Twist Records

Post by RITH » Wed Oct 09, 2013 14:33

It’s almost time! Candy Twist is preparing to release ‘Nobody’s Business, volume one – a DIY pop compilation’. This is what you can expect: twelve international DIY bands with twelve brand new and previously unreleased pop songs, on twelve inches of vinyl. None of these songs have seen a physical release before, and only the Cave Ghosts’ contribution has been available online before. I know I’m probably not completely impartial, but I can honestly say I’m properly impressed by all contributions.

Bands in alphabetical order:
Cave Ghosts - Mistakes
Colour Me Wednesday - What happened
The Felt Tips - Going natural (demo)
The Fireworks - I wish you'd go
Heathers (USA) - Wedding song
The Hobbes Fanclub - Baby it's you
Horowitz - That's deceit
Liechtenstein - The map
Lost Tapes - All I miss
Making Marks - Breakthrough
Martha - Clatty Harriet
Young Romance - Twenty five

Keep an eye on

I'll be buying the fuck out of that. How many are you pressing?
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.

250. I'd love to do more, but I don't really have the resources for it. If it's really succesful, I may talk to the bands to see if a reprint is doable.

That seems like a reasonable amount to press. It's tough selling vinyl at the moment.

I'll be ordering this one, for sure, though.

Yeah, I'd rather not lose too much money on this first one. It's only 21 albums per bands though, and it seems doable.

I'm not 100% sure yet, depending on some costs that are still unclear. But it'll be around 10 euros.

Just letting your know because I'm very happy with the words I received back from him this week: Kieron from 'In Love With These Times, In Spite Of These Times' has written the liner notes for this release.

His blog may be the best:

(Only 250 copies available. Pre-order now to secure a copy!)

The album was mastered by Pete Bowers. Liner notes by Kieron Mitchinson.

Thanks guys!

And yes Colin, that's crazy isn't it? I'm still looking for distros in the USA (and anywhere) because this is surely going to stop a lot of people from buying, I fear. Thanks for not letting it stop you though!
