Frankie Machine

Post by MJHibbett » Mon Feb 18, 2008 15:27

It's a thread for our very own Francis Albert Machine!

FLYING back into ROCK action after a year and a bit of quietness, he's got actually a FEW gigs coming up and a really RATHER fantastic new album "Farnkie Machien" (aka The Remix EP - do you see?) just out. I guess people here might know him from the people he's played WITH in the past (like ME, or Airport Gurl), but this is his own stuff and it's very very lovely indeed. Like Nick Drake, but a) more good b) less dead.

His website's at http://www.frankiemachine.com should you require it, highly recommended!

I've seen Mr Machine play live three times, I think, and every time he has been nothing short of breathtaking.

'Nineteen Seventy Three' is one of my favourite songs by anyone.

i can 2nd that. i sing it to myself a lot.

and recently there's been some song with the same title by that posh gimp who's mates with the queen. umm. james? BLUNT! that's it! and I was worried that his song might ruin the Frankie Machine song for me BUT it's sort of done th eopposite. whenever i'm in a pub/shop/other place pumping out terrible music and hear the song i walk out singing the Frankie Machine song.

I can't see the nick drake thing myself (a goofd thing to my ear) but Frankie A. Machine is fantastically wonderful and i STILL look forward to seeing him live some day.

Aaaahhh! Godley and Creme bless you all…

I'll be playing at Indietracks with The Validators and Airport Girl, so just add beer and hand me a guitar and I'm sure I can be persuaded to sprinkle some Frankie magic in your tent...

Frankie - how do you fancy playing with Phil Wilson and the Hibbett in Nottingham in early May?

Will you put the Franky Panky in my tent. I won't put a guitar in your hand... it'll be something else.

God I feel sick now and it wasn't even particularly funny!

http://www.frankiemachine.com (under the news section)

or if you can't be arsed to click that far..straight to the mediafire link

Everyone should download and listen to ^that^ cos it's one of the most beautiful, entrancing things you're ever likely to hear.

Frankie Machine is the most criminally under-rated music-y dude in the UK. I have the single but I'm d/ling it anyway cos I'm like that.

I'm assuming your albums are still available, eh, frnakie?

BUY THOSE, people!
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.
