Oh and that's on a Pitchfork Stage, which I'm guessing will replace the Vice stage as they don't appear to be a sponsor this year.

I need to stop reading about Primavera as I can't go this year :(

I think this is the year I will finally go to Primavera. Been thinking of going for years, but never got around to actually doing so.

More bands added..

A Certain Ratio
Oneida
Joe Crepusculo
Jay Reatard
Deerhunter
The Bad Plus
Art Brut

Starting to feel a bit more comfortable about buying that early bird ticket purely on the strength of last year's shenanigans. The exchange rate is gonna hurt though.

I'm well happy about Oneida playing. They're a great live band.

It's pretty exciting, as even though there are a good 4 or 5 bands announced so far that I'd really like to see, there've been no real big names announced yet, and the good thing about Primavera is that the range of artists that could potentially be announced is huge. Have you heard any rumours?

Not really. The Fleet Foxes get mentioned a few times on the Facebook group, but that may be just people hoping rather than substantial rumour. I always have a look at the ATP line-up for clues, due to the link up there but that won't be any of the big hitters either.

Out of the announcements so far, I've gotten hold of The Mae Shi's album which sounds tremendous (Thinking: Wolf Parade, Clap Your Hands type yelping indie) and quietly impressed with what I've heard from Plants & Animals too.

I've heard from a reliable source that a certain Anorak-friendly New York band with a rather long name might be playing.

You weren't wrong.

Twitter was good for updates of the press conference. Notiable highlights for me were:

Jarvis Cocker
Yo La Tengo
Aphex Twin
Ghostface Killah
Sonic Youth
Sonic Boom / Spectrum
Simian Mobile Disco
Shellac
Uffie
Kimya Dawson
The New Year
Magnolia Electric Co.
Bat For Lashes
Bloc Party

So, no megastars but strong additions!

Once again, a very strong bill - particularly chuffed about the addition of Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo & Wooden Shjips. Looks like there's going to be plenty of clashes in the running order again.

Yeah, I actually "got" Twitter today. It really came up trumps. Highlights of the bill for me are Sonic Youth and Ghostface, but there'll be more than enough there to keep me occupied.
