It used to be fine for Edwyn C and pub quiz but they seem to have changed it. Meddling organisers!

I don't think it's much of a clash. HDIF starts 12.30, the "secret" band ends at 12.45.

Unless the times have changed and I haven't noticed....

Ah, all they've announced is "11.00pm-3.00am - DJs To be confirmed", so I'd assumed HDIF would be on from the start.

By the way, go and see Franz. There'll still be two hours of HDIF after they've finished. Loads!

I'm getting really excited, is it really only tomorrow?!

So is the secret band definitely Franz Ferdinand?

Yip. I should also say that people are welcome to come round to mine beforehand as I live just round the corner from there.

Sad that HDIF clashes with Crystal Castles, but will be there for the last 45 mins

Yeah! Fantastic!

My highlight was Edwyn with the Fannies.

Anyone know why Monica wasn't there?

Oh - and can I be the first on here to mention the Cornish pastie de la bourgeoisie shop?
Cheers!

Well that was a lot of fun wasn't it?

Those pasties were phenomenal. My highlights were jumping around to Franz Ferdinand, Edwyn Collins/Teenage Fanclub, the 5-a-side football, The Vaselines' smutty stage banter, X Factor chalet party, tequilas at the HDIF disco, playing on the mini-diggers, The Amphetameanies (with Alex Kapranos on guitar!) Belle and Sebastian. Also really enjoyed Saint Etienne, Steve Mason, Those Dancing Days, Dean Wareham...just pretty much everything I saw really!

Butlins rules!

What a great weekend. Kept bumping into old friends and realising just how many nice people I've met through B&S fandom.

Music was pretty good too, in a "I'd forgotten how good these are" way rather than a "mind blown by new band" way. Highlights: Teenage Fanclub, Edwyn Collins, B&S, Laetitia Sadier, Mulatu Astatqe, Go! Team, Isobel Campbell/Mark Lanegan, Steve Mason, Vashti Bunyan and the little bits of Franz Ferdinand, Crystal Castles and Dirty Projectors that I saw.

The television was pretty great as well. As was HDIF on Saturday. As were the pasties, although a second vegetarian variety would have been nice.

that was superb. i can't speak for the pastie shop, however. i only noticed it on sunday evening.

i thought edwyn and the fannies together were great. those dancing days were immense fun. camera obscura were the best i've seen them in ages (did i actually see tracyanne smile?). best coast were very good live, even if not quite a grungy as on record. dean wareham, isobel and mark, saint etienne, sons and daughters. all great.

as was seeing jenny lewis.

did anyone else see the "paul mccartney is dead" documentary in the small hours of saturday night? i've never laughed so much as something which was supposed to be serious. i think.
i just wanted to lick your face

Anyone else come back with a chest infection? I suspect the combination of late nights and a tepid hot tub have done it for me...
Edwyn Collins though. Totally life-affirming. (and Pat Nevin! One of the best dj sets I've ever danced to...)
