"Low Cost" indie festival Spain, July 23 & 24

Post by Chemical Dave » Wed Mar 31, 2010 10:57 am

This is the second year of the "Low cost festival" and bands playing include Placebo, Viva La Fete, Late of The Pier, The Chemistry Set, These New Puritans, Aluminium Babe and about 25 more international and Spanish bands including the fantastically named "Love of lesbian"!

Tickets for the day is 30 euros and 45 euros for 2 days.

It is designed as a "low cost" alternative to the FIB.

The festival is moving from Alicante to Benidorm this year, which sounds grim but all of the concerts will take place in a nice park close to the sea, so it is feasible if you are already in Spain to head just for the 2 days and get out again. The old town in Benidorm is actually nice and is mainly Spanish tourists. They anticipate 10,000 people per day and there will also be loads of indie DJ's and films.

Worth a look if you are near by!

Good Vibrations!

A festival headlined by Placebo on that weekend. That's target marketing for you.

Nice shot.
I guess everybody there will cancel Indietracks to get this unbelievable chance to see Placebo.

I'd cancel my own funeral for Tokyo Sex Destruction.

perhaps this is spam, but then perhaps it's not

not everyone in the world will either be going to indietracks or want to that weekend (shock! horror!)

perhaps dave (perhaps misguidedly) felt some sense that somebody might wander across this thread on anorak and be in spain at that time or be taken with the bill so much that they'll make sure they are and go along to this

let's not disappear up our own fundaments just yet- to the rest of the world this (indietracks, placebo) is all just 'indie music', the vagaries/partitions/splinters/fractures/enclaves/subdivisions, etc just aren't that important or obvious to the many

I'd bring my own funeral forward so I could get to see them after

(some of you may have seen this 'joke' in our earlier editions)

I got confused (for a second) and thought the Chemistry Set was ChemEx. I do not think Love of Lesbian are fantastically named. I think Brian Molko is probably very pleasant though, as he was nice to Adam Buxton's dad.
Toot toot.
