Long Division Festival

Went to post about this in last year's thread and found out there wasn't one, which seems an oversight given that year's line-up included The Wedding Present, the Wave Pictures, the Lovely Eggs, Stanley Brinks, Los Campesinos!, Emma Pollock and Emmy The Great.

It's a great little multi-venue event in central Wakefield, and they've just announced the first few acts for this year's festival over the first weekend in June, including the Vaselines, Art Brut, Standard Fare, This Many Boyfriends, Aidan Moffatt, Zoey Van Goey and Let's Wrestle: http://www.longdivisionfestival.co.uk/

I remember wanting to go to this last year. Can;t remember why I didn't, but I imagine it would have been broke flavoured.

Got my ticket.

They've very thoughtfully put all 9 bands on I want to see at different times, so they don't clash. Total result.

More than they've done for my Standard Fare and Runaround Kids-loving self.

I saw the Runaround Kids last week, so might give them a miss.

No doubt will change on the day, but it looks like Sam Airey, Kid Canaveral, This Many Boyfriends, Standard Fare, ABC Club, Evans The Death, Zoey Van Goey, Whitre Town and then The Vaselines. Not bad for £13!!

Another ace seeming year, apart from Howard bloody Marks being so high up on the bill and the likelihood Allo Darlin' will be playing in an alcove or something: http://www.longdivisionfestival.co.uk/

Slight Fall vs Allo Darlin clash, but I reckon A.D. will win out. Booze cruise and bands around Wakey always a winner.

If you were the person outside the library who shouted "Fortuna Pop!" at me on noting my T-shirt yesterday, sorry I didn't stop but I didn't realise until a few crucial seconds later. (If, by some strange course, you're the member of the hen party who accosted me in the street to ask "do you sell those police shirts yourself?", I don't but I can put you in contact with a man who does)

In other news, I still get surprised and delighted on how Allo Darlin' can make a room just take off.

Cracking day out. Allo Darlin' just amazing. That's the third time I've seen them at The Hop. Too many highlights, didn't see a bad band, and plenty of good ones.Band to watch for :Soulmates Never Die.

God, how boring. I thought the Reading festival was dull but one where you have to do maths sounds even worse than one where you ahve to read.

Sorry.
