Not on MY copy of Life's Rich Pageant.

I reckon I have an excuse.

Fairly sure the song by The Clique is also called Superwoman...

Oh wow, I didn't know that. My Lifes (no apostrophe for REM!) Rich Pageant is a reissue so it does say Superman, but the track order's still wrong.

I'm still dead excited about the new REM album. If they do a decent job of recording the songs and don't over-produce them this time it should be great. Here's my favourite of the new songs, although they all sound good: -

Their new album, "Accelerate", comes out on March 31st here and April 1st in the US. According to the word on the net it is "really rather excellent".

The band are doing some kind of weird (old-school REM-esque perhaps?) build up/count down to its release here: -

Did anybody else hear their concert from the Royal Albert Hall on Radio 2 last night? It was ace, especially the new songs! 'Living Well is the Best Revenge' and 'Houston' have totally made it into my all-time favourite R.E.M. songs list.

They would indeed! As would Living Well, Horse to Water, and Houston. Good little set list that.

Oh fuck, i've just remembered Imitation Of Life, Let Me In, Catapult and a zillion others. Argh.

Monty Got A Raw Deal was my favourite as a kid, by miles, but curiously enough i can't remember how it goes right now.

Let Me In is great. I remember trying to imitate the guitar sound using a tiny amp and a Zoom 505 FX box, years and years ago. It wasn't really happening.

Was the most recent album any good, then? I'm sort of curious but at the same time can't really be bothered to listen to it.

The acoustic version of Let Me In that they played on their 2008 tour was lovely - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey9D6d_G408

Their last album was great in my opinion. I quite like Up, although it's not entirely to my taste, find Reveal pretty boring, although it has a few gems, but Around The Sun is mostly pretty dire. Accelerate, however, is one of my favourite of all their albums, and its first track, Living Well is the Best Revenge, is without doubt one of my absolute favourite ever R.E.M. songs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EjeFFigE1Y

Aha! My thoughts on the other "post-good" albums pretty much match yours so perhaps I should overcome my laziness and give it a chance.
