Nice song miss applesquirrel. So nice even, that I posted it a few scrolls up there.

How's the rest of that album?

It's real pretty, like perfectly so.

And if you place an order with Magic Marker (this and the new Tullycraft maybe?) They send badges and nice handwritten notes on interesting paper stuff.

I am an ass.

I not only did not realize you'd already posted it, but just now, I failed to realize you were telling me you'd already posted it.

Poop.

Indiepop is non-existent in the Netherlands. At least, as good as.
The Cuties are, unsurprisingly, kind of cute though.

Indiepop is non-existent in Ireland, or as near's makes no difference.
But I think the Strangleberries were pretty.
Especially this song. The link will probably disappear in a few days.

Strangleberries - Bravado
the trouble with personalities, they're too wrapped up in style
it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

Ireland. This blog - http://frequency-ireland.blogspot.com/ is pretty good for picking up on new Irish music. Not strictly dedicated to indiepop. But they've got some good stuff up there.
not really here

Weren't the Would-Bes Irish? They were pretty good. And the Frank And Walters had some good tunes as well.

Dutch indiepop, on the other hand... (But the Cuties are nice, indeed.)

Ooh, I don't know the Would-Bes. The Frank and Walters were always a bit too deliberately quirky for me. I'm probably being too harsh - there's definitely pretty melodic Irish music even if not very much of what I'd call indiepop in 'spirit' (?). I do like those Strangleberries though.

The Would-Be(')s (some people put an apostrophe there) had a song, Hardly Ever Wrong that made it to the 12th position in the 1990 Festive Fifty. And that's almost all they ever released. I don't have access to my mp3 collection from here, but it'd be nice if someone could upload the song somewhere. It's too good a song not to know.

Quick best of selection of The Hector Collectors, who have been described as The Yummy Fur-lite, but I prefer to think of as a The Television Personalities a decade later. From Motherwell, Scotland, this Glasgow band's ever changing line up has featured members of Dananananaykroyd, The Royal We, Franz Ferdinand, Camera Obscura, The Just Joans and many many more.

Banned from Kasino - The familiar tale of being banned from your favourite internet messageboard
The Day the Supernaturals went to the 13th Note - based on a true story
Mock around the smock - Could be about anything really
Talking to another pyschopath - Its about online friendships
End medley - Its kind of like a tradition for the Hector Collectors to play a mindblowing medley of songs at the end of their set, this was recorded live at Glasgow's legendary Winchester Club

Wow, I really like that! I'm Hardly Ever Wrong is lovely, and a fantastic name for a song. I'm sort of happy that there's little hints of indiepop in Ireland. They seem to've still been going in 2000, so I have no excuse for not knowing them except that I was busy listening to rubbish folk-rock at the time.
I think they sort of remind me a tiny bit of the Microdisney LP I have (We Hate You South African Bastards!*), but maybe I'm making that up. I'll go listen to it now.

*I think it's supposed to be anti-apartheid. There's a really funny explanation of the name on the back of the record.

My Legendary Girlfriend have made most of their back catalogue available for free download online

Personally I think The Wrong End of a Telescope was their finest moment.

Swedish lovely Montt Mardie's lovely Swedish ballad version of Rihanna's Umbrella, called "Paraply"

http://www.mapleleaves.se/filer/MonttMardie-Paraply.mp3

clear eyes full hearts can't lose

Bishop Allen did a great show last night in Amsterdam. Reason enough to post

Bishop Allen - Rain
Bishop Allen - Things are what you make of them

here, for the few of you who don't already own the albums?
I think so.
