This Christmas song, "Strålande jul" makes me cry every time. And this is a heavenly version from the Lucia celebrations lead by teens from a music school in Stockholm, aged 10 - 18. I have been there for it live, it's magnificent! My step sister used to go there so she was always part of it, performing in front of 13 000 people.

Spaceman 3 - 'Revolution'. This makes me shiver. Especially when the drums kick in near the beginning. And after it all comes back in again after the lyrics.

I think the writing in this song is some of the best I know. And I've never heard this arrangement with violin..

the trouble with personalities, they're too wrapped up in style
it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

Dirty Boots is pretty much my favourite song ever written. Everything in it just seems so perfect.

And by me, I mean, Flexo.

I used to love that song, and then one day it got to the bit where he says "it's time to start thinking about a liiiiiiittle... revolution" and I thought "yeah, let us know when you move on from the thinking about stage, you preposterous hippie waster" and burst out laughing, and it's never been the same since.

I just like the guitars in it. Sonic Boom is not the next Lenin. I've known that for a few years now.

I wish you'd told me. My ideological development was delayed by several years!

For the subversive crime of playing 'Revolution' a DJ was once sacked from Gullivers (for other readers, that's the 'indie' club me and a layer of chips used to go to in our smalltown youth). TRUE FACT!

Was that DJ you?

Did you ever DJ at Gullies? I did. Just once. It was fucking terrifying. That had a huge desk, didn't they?

No, I never did... but yeah, Gullies must be the only club where the desk was as big as the dancefloor...

I wanna go there now.

Today I'm in the mood for electro-tweepop in Spanish, so this is obviously the best song ever...
