I do a podcast every now and again, which is basically a revival of my old student radio show (complete with re-hashed jingles...). Latest one is here:

http://johnkell.wordpress.com/2010/09/0 ... om-august/

50 mins (ish), 22mb

Even though only Phill Jupitus is listed, Darren Hayman is co-guest on the latest Utter Shambles.

Here's the new one.

A mixture of stuff for this one. Some brand new songs from Comet Gain, The Primitives, Crystal Stilts, The Lovely Eggs and Owl + Mouse. Some songs that I played at the recent HDIF night in central London. And some songs that I plan to play on Friday night's HDIF in Brixton. All-music, no-chat.

I just posted my first podcast/mixy thing since October 2009 if anyone is interested. It features lots of things, from The Germs to Garbo's Daughter, Death and The Love Gestures. Quite noisy, but summery nonetheless.

You can download it at http://recordsmakegreatpets.blogspot.com/

Here's the new soul podcast..

Listen here - http://www.mixcloud.com/hdif/great-big-kiss-podcast-6/

We start and end this Great Big Kiss podcast with two songs that share the same backing track. Laura Greene's "Music, Moonlight And You" is probably the better known of the two, but my favourite - mostly for the way the melodramatic spoken intro sets up the song - is Frankie And The Classicals' "What Shall I Do?". Elsewhere, we have my favourite ever northern soul single - "Do It" by Pat Powdrill - and "Luci Baines" by The American Four, who were fronted by a youthful, pre-Love, Arthur Lee (in fact, this song was his debut vocal recording). Plus the usual mix of northern soul, girl groups and rock'n'roll.

I'm making the leap from podcast to internet radio (didn't really want to start my own thread though...). There's a new community internet station in the Crouch End area and they've given me a show, the fools!

So, http://www.northpalaceradio.co.uk/, Wednesday (tomorrow!), 9pm: John Kell Vs Satan. It'll be available on Mixcloud shortly thereafter. Future shows fortnightly at the same time.

I'm not going to post the playlist in advance, but you can expect to hear some Anorak-friendly stuff from this year and the word "Indietracks" numerous times.

Hope you enjoy it!

This is a really great podcast (not that I'm opposed to the loud stuff either); there's loads of beautiful stuff in there I haven't heard before.

it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

Thanks David. I've not really pushed it on here (that one is #13 and we're now up to #25) cos I'm not sure what folk would think of the music choices, especially the noisier ones, but it's cool that you took the time to listen.

So aye, if anyone wants to listen to 25 podcasts of not indiepop (apart from C Is The Heavenly Option on one show) then head to -

Here's the latest HDIF podcast, featuring a bumper crop of fantastic new music. There's brand new, as yet unreleased, songs by Allo Darlin', The Wave Pictures, Tunabunny, Shrag, Tigercats, Cats On Fire and Evans The Death, and the glorious new single by The Magnetic Fields - plus the usual mixture of northern soul, girl groups and rock'n'roll.

Didn't realise there was a podcast thread. Here's the latest Totally Acoustic podcast, featuring Model Village and Elizabeth Allo Darlin' (and me, but fast forward is available!)

http://www.mjhibbett.co.uk/totallyacous ... astcode=19

There's a LOT of other podcasts in the series, featuring Anorak-y bands like A Fine Day For Sailing, The Understudies, Vom Vorton, Winston Echo and a great (and indeed GRATE) deal more!

Another bumper crop of brand new music on this podcast. There's new singles from Veronica Falls and The School, new album tracks from Dexys, The Wedding Present, Cats On Fire and The Just Joans, and brand new songs from the brand new likes of Big Wave, Knickers and Orca Team. Plus the usual foot-stomping mixture of northern soul, girl groups and rock'n'roll.

I just remembered that I'm hopeless at promoting my latest podcast but this one features two members of this parish in indiansummer and Mr Bear. A group of us recorded this over the weekend at the Jeff Mangum ATP. Here it is -

http://plentyside.blogspot.com/2012/03/ ... -cast.html

Worth listening in order to hear Mr Bear talk about saddles...
