Lyrics in my head right now

Post by crystalball » Sat Sep 29, 2007 1:47 pm

My friends say find a Hello Kitty girl instead
And I know it's gonna cost me all my indie cred
But I've just gotta get a taste of her good head
For figures

Because of Lynsey's post about singing along to Dirty Dancing before:

I've had the time of my life
No I NEVUH felt this way before
... something something...
And it's truu-huuuh-huuuh
And I owe it all to youuuuuu-hooo-uuuu

I have no idea how the lyrics in my head right now got there, since they (and the tune that goes with them) never actually existed before they appeared there.
The lyrics consist entirely of the following 9 words on a continual loop:

David Walliams / Charlton Heston / Frank Skinner / and Roland Rat

I don't really understand how my mind works.

I've gotta big big big big heart beat, yeah
I think you are the sweetest thing
I wear a coat of feelings and they are loud
I've been having good days
Think we are the right age
To start out own peculiar ways
With good friendly homes?

You get me freaked freaked freaked on preakness
Never met a girl that likes to drink with horses
Knows her chinese ballet
Must admit you smell like fruity nuts and good grains
When you show my purple gaze
A thing or two at night

Make me sick sick sick to kiss you and I think that i woud vomit
But I'll do that on Mondays I dont have a work way
I like it when I bump you an accident's a truth gate
I'm humbled in your pretty lens
I'll hold you dont you go

Sometimes you're quiet and sometimes I'm quiet. Hallelujah!
Sometimes I'm talkative and sometimes you're not talkative, I know....
I wear a coat of feelings and they are loud

And when I break another string
And continue to sing
Is that courage?
I'm not sure

Gosh, it's hard to be yourself
When everyone around you
Thinks you're someone else

The miserable Scottish hotel,
resembled a Genesis or Marillion,
1973 LP cover!

Politics and pregnancy are debated as we empty our glasses
How I love those evening classes

Yeah!! fabulous lyrics and one of the best songs ever written(Greetings To The New Brunette/Shirley).
No words to describe how much I love Billy Bragg. I am seeing him at the QEH on Sunday,
'Billy Bragg in conversation with Jude Kelly'. It's Billy’s 50th birthday, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of his first solo gig. I think it's going to be fantastic. Can't wait.

Anyway, those are amazing lyrics. I first heard that song played in an indie/pop night a couple of months ago when the guy from Irene was djing at HDIF. And it sounded supercalifragilisticexpialidocious :-)
I slice the surface here beside you/Lungs filled liquid yell I love you/Sound moves further underwater
Deep and dark my submarine bells groan in greens and grey/Mine would chime a thousand times/To make you feel okay..

It is indeed a fabulous piece of lyricism. I love that whole album; it was one of the first I bought, after seeing him play 'Love Gets Dangerous' and 'Honey, I'm a Big Boy Now' on some Whistle Test thing in the middle of the night when I was 15 or something. Aw.

Well thankyou! I'll try and remember to do that song next time I play in Birmingham. :)
