I've got a blind date with a knight of the infinite
I've got a blind date with a knight of the infinite
Resignation, resignation
Resignation, resignation

'Soren Loved Regina'!

Oops, sorry. Um...

If your heart is going to crack, fall apart like that
Did you ever guess I want to keep this mess
No, you can have it back

I think he is Batman, I'd like to be his Robin
When I'm a sewing machine, he is my bobbin

I was walking with my laundry, walking from the laundromat
I almost had a heart attack thinking of you

She moves from dreams back to her daydreams
Thinks that they are the same thing

She tries to get her heart to accept
That there's nothing left except this chance

every now and then it happens again
i can't remember what comes first
is it the hurt?
or knowing that it hurts?

so - none of you get shit lyrics stuck in your head, then? Lucky you.

Sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and lie

Actually, those aren't shit, just the song.

Now this might be enough for me
Feels so good I want to laugh
Almost for always

I was born at half past twelve
Almost one in the morning
I was born at half past one
Almost two in the morning
Now my birthday comes again
I don't know how old I am
Half past one or two or three
Almost four in the morning

I was born at half past four
Almost five in the morning
I was born at half past six
Almost seven in the morning
How old am I, you ask of me?
One year younger than I used to be
Half past seven, half past eight
Almost nine in the morning

I was born at half past nine
Almost ten in the morning
I was born at half past ten
Almost 'leven in the morning
Now my age is twiddle and twee
I'm prettier now than I used to be
Half past 'leven, half past 'leven
Almost twelve in the morning

little tv sets
going off inside my ear
spacemen floating by
fire cracker beer
chase the demons lightly
news it hits your eye
up and down the sidewalk
take a doo doo pie
i love you

toasters and birds
little pigeon turds
radio in my hair
it's not really there
cause i.. love.. you

boogers and poop
dictionary soup
run for the hills
we have to eat pills
and i.. love.. you

mr. rubberface
i'm from outer space
kibbles 'n bits
tiny mouse tits
and i.. love.. you
i.. love.. you

You have dogs instead of children
You take long walks instead of spending time with your husband
But if I had a husband like you
I would take long walks too

I've always assumed that what Gordon actually means there was "if I had a husband like yours", not "like you". It's quite a significant difference really. But then it wouldn't rhyme. Unless he changed the fourth line to "I would also do long walking tours". But that sounds silly.

Oh I'm afraid of trouble
Yes I'm afraid of jail
Oh but I'm more afraid of not to try
More afraid of what happens now if we fail
What happens now if we fail

's been in my brain for days; good thing I love the song:

I'm standing by
To light your cigarette
That was my cigarette
And it burned your castle down

comme s'en vont les nuages
sur le gris-bleu de la mer
notre amour est à l'orage
et mon coeur est à l'envers

tout ce que la vie nous donne
aujourd'hui je l'ai perdu
par ce rendezvous d'automne
où tu n'es jamais venu...

oh, françoise! if my heart wasn't already in a million pieces this would've done the trick.

You are broke all summer
But you still sing
Don't need money when it's sunny
Don't need anything
Just good music and sun and laughter
And no currency
The sun on your bear shoulders
It comes for free

Dreams come true my heart is still with you

What a good place to be
Don't believe it
Cause they speak a different language
And its never really happened to me
(It's happy hour again)

That whole discussion about the mainstream press perception of indiepop and how they write about it has put an Aztec Camera song in the back of my head.

They're calling all the shots, they'll call and say they phoned,
They'll call us lonely when we're really just alone.
And like a funny film, it's kinda cute
They've bought the bullets and there's no-one left to shoot.
