I appear to have agreed with something on Louder Than War:
On August 17th 2015, they unexpectedly unleashed a new, revamped design with the clear intention to attract a modern audience and bolster their decaying status. In doing so, they have understandably pissed off many loyal users. With a flawed site structure, pages overloaded with content and the demise of the much-loved profile sidebar and personalisation options, they’ve enforced a product so broken, so inconsistent and so despised, it should never have seen the light of day to begin with.

Here's mine:

1 The Middle Ones
2 Rough Bunnies
3 The Spook School
4 Haiku Salut
5 Delia Derbyshire
6 The Chiffons
7 frozy
8 The Receptionists
9 The Fireworks
10 Allo Darlin'
11 The Wendy Darlings
12 Avocado Baby
13 The Penny Licks
14 10,000 Maniacs
15 De La Soul
16 The Pastels
17 August Actually
18 Owl & Mouse
19 Diana Ross and the Supremes
20 Milky Wimpshake
21 The Aislers Set
22 Just Handshakes
23 Studio Ghibli
24 Jonathan Richman
25 Desmond Dekker

A thing I've noticed is that at number 37 is "How Does It Feel To Be Loved?" which appears to be Haiku Salut with incorrect tags. That would put them at number 1 instead of number 4. I must go and fix that. I've noticed similar with other music I've downloaded in the past too - it's very annoying...

I do but on a dedicated podcast player but on a dedicated podcast player that doesn't scrobble. My copy of Tricolore has an artist of How Does It Feel To Be Loved. I've never noticed before because I use folders rather than tags to find the music I want to listen to.

This trails off over the last few months because I updated the software on my computer and the scrobbler won't work anymore (except for Spotify, which I don't use much). I suppose I'm not missing much anyway since the change. Anyway, for what it's worth:
Screen Shot 2016-01-02 at 16.05.14.png

Strong pop showing in the top ten with Aislers, Dear Nora, Trust Fund, etc. Nice crossover with Ghost Box-y, hauntological sort of things as well, and of course a strong year for the evergreen Françoise Hardy. Kanye did quite well as well, although if his new single's anything to go by my enthusiasm for his next record may end up somewhat muted.

They look kinda nice now with the little pictures. Pity they made such a mess of the rest of it.

I've started making my own interface into it on my own website so I don't have to visit the last.fm website ever again :-D.

Yesterday marked 10 years on last.fm for me. http://www.last.fm/user/alongwaltz

This is crazy to think. My last.fm account predates Facebook, my current e-mail, and pretty much any social media or online account I have.

Back in 2006 I was a 21 year-old kid just discovering indiepop. My top 10 artists for the year includes names like Cat Power, Counting Crows, and Kupek (the musical project of Scott Pilgrim cartoonist Bryan Lee O'Malley), though the presence of B&S and The Magnetic Fields shows where my tastes are heading. Eels were my #1 of the year and remain my all-time favorite band so some things don't change.

I listen to lots of CD's on my stereo, which obviously doesn't scrobble, so it's far from a definitive representation of what I listened to this past decade but it's not far off all things considered.

Once had an excellently boozy time with him at the Duchess of York in Leeds when he was roadying for What? Noise and I was along for the ride. Brandy was consumed. :)

I'm really into last.fm still. I mean, all I ever want to know is what people are listening to and what they're reading and between last.fm, Anorak and Goodreads, I'm covered. The other day someone messaged me on there to tell me that my charts changed their life because a few years ago they got obsessed with listening to my radio (is that still a thing in the new version?) and discovered Tilly and the Wall and The Positions and indiepop and started going to gigs and met loads of nice people. That's cool, right? I didn't even do anything! Scrobbling 4eva

I reinstalled last.fm a few weeks back... lost it when my laptop blew up last year and I was going to put it back on when they changed everything and I was filled with uncertainty but I'm back on now... so, yeh, scrobbling again

That's ace that is.

Since I got all my digital music clouded up I've also started scrobbling again. But the new last.fm website is a disaster. Where's the link gone for the page where you can see in real time what your friends are listening to?

I'm a bit useless at explaining stuff like this but you can see what people are playing now ('scrobbling now') and what the last track was that they scrobbled by clicking on the little last.fm scrobbler icon on your taskbar (does everyone have taskbars?) and then the scrobbler 'interface panel' appears and it shows you what's 'now playing' for you but also there's a tab for 'friends' and you click on that and you can spy on people that way... I hope that helps

And on my return I find no neighbours, no groups and I can't import from iTunes. Merry fucking Christmas.

I forgot about 'neighbours'. Didn't they drop that feature about 8 years ago??
