I disagree! I'm probably a tad biased as I rate Up Against The Legends as one of the best albums of the decade, but I think "Seconds Away" is simply a return to the earlier Legends sound and could quite happily have been tucked away on that first album. In fact the only thing mising is the trademark 'handclapping'.

After the two London shows earlier in the year I was raving about The Pains to anyone who would listen, describing them as sounding like a brilliant coming together of early MBV, J&MC, Ride, The Legends, Black Tambourine and bits of House of Love.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the POBPAH album and, having played 'Seconds Away' a few times now, I'm really hoping there'll be a new Legends album out soon too.

Ben Folds "Free Coffee"

Maybe it's the fact that I'm a little bit boozed right about now, but this new Ben Folds album sounded a LOT better in the shop. Shame. I bloody love him.

Yes. It IS one of the best albums of the decade! Still, they've whacked up the fuzz a bit on this new one.

I'm listening to 'Airwalker' by Jeremy Jay - it's a big 'Do The Whirlwind' rip off but really good too.

I told you! i told you! didn't I :-) I love all Johan's music projects and songwriting (the Legends first album is indeed majestic) and this song sounds brilliant to me!

Oh, undoubtedly. And it's bloody great thet they've / he's reverted to the fuzzed up feedback of the first album after 2 decidedly 'patchy' efforts. Inspired by POBPAH? Possibly, but even if so, it's definitely a good thing.

Me too! I think it's bloody terrific that there are so many bands out there right now that have got me so enthused and excited about music again.

I've just got in and am a tad pissed and am showing considerable restraint... I really want to start umpteen threads about how great certain bands and songs sound when you're drunk!

Anyone else agree that Hot Lava's 'Apple+Options+Fire' is too good to be true? A bassoon solo without being all twee and wanky? Flippin' genius!

I've been listening to a lot of Lush this week. When I was 17 I used to think this was the best song in the world. It's not far off.

David Bowie - Station to Station

I'm also listening to The Clientele's God Save the Clientele. It's the first release of theirs that I've really enjoyed since Suburban Light.
New Postal Blue single out now on Cloudberry Records.
There are still copies of our Road to Happiness CD-EP here.

Still my favorite Lush track...heard it the first time when my friend left the tape in my car.

Faust - Jennifer

It's more a Sunday song than a Saturday song, but it's sounding great anyway.

I think it's pretty good going. He played the Free Coffee song at Glastonbury with a piano with an altoids tin wedged in it wired through some kind of effects peddle. It was nuts and exciting.

it's rather great, isn't it? lush was the first band of which i "owned every album they recorded" - a fact i started feeling ratgher sheepish about after a while... and now, with the wisdom of hindsight, i'm rather proud of myself!
my adolescent self was caught in endless miki vs emma debates, still not entirely settled. and thast song... <sigh> ... though that youtube clips rather undersells the fantastic bassline, or is that just my computer?

anyway, after being sligthly underwhelmed at first, i'm finally warming to the new sigur ros.
and i'm still on a masssive cat's miaow parade - what a magnificent, flawless band! wow!
1 wasn't for the money
2 wasn't for the show
3 is GO! GO! GO!

I go through phases of listening to this over and over and over again.

Your wedding CD has sparked a Sleeper revival in my house. The Kingmaker/Echobelly/These Animal Men revival can't be far off

It's the obscene cover you should be washing your hands of. Your quarter of the tracks totally included the Sleeper one
