In commemoration of the CD that my computer destroyed last night

I've got a download of it now, but it's not the same. But Cate is still impossibly cool, so at least that's alright.

You know, I've never listened to Cate Le Bon. I'm really terrible at this listening to things stuff.

Been listening to a lot of Slow Down Tallahassee today. Best band. Right now: 'Never Be Lonely Again'

All the feelings.

I think Saloon happened during my lost decade. I picked up on them the through radio and The Leaf Library connection and their first album's really lovely, with bits of it having a nice, unexpected late-Talk Talk quality about it.

Since I watched "The Punk Singer" I've ben listening to some of Kathleen Hanna's post Bikini Kill stuff and it's really good. The "Julie Ruin" album (as opposed to The Julie Ruin album) is brilliant, really inventive and fun lo-fi stuff.

And getting all up to date, Cat's Eyes "Duke Of Burgundy" soundtrack is great and almost makes me forget one of them's in The Horrors (I don't think he does very much on this, I hope not anyway).

Enjoying the Tender Prey album - tape only alas, with a dispiriting picture of said tape unwinding into the ether just in case your thoughts hadn't tended towards it's ultimate fate. But yeah, really good, and a few surprising and welcome touches of The Fall and Kate Bush about it. The version of "Strong Feelings" is great, but I do wish she'd done it a bit more rough and tumble like she does here:

That bit where she says "course you have" is the coolest thing.

Ah fuck it, that's not gonna work, is it?

It's the Blanche Hudson Weekend, How Many Times Have You Let Me Die?

Nearly forgot what a brilliant album that is.

code is simply [bandcamp] 4258224353 [/bandcamp] minus the spaces. You get the number from the Wordpress code but you don't use all the code that it gives you. Just the number.
