I like how that guy at the back looks like he's not playing along, unless he's wearing something outlandish that I can't quite see.
No trousers. That's his secret.

Like fuck you can't coiff! "Oh WAH, my supersonic, near-psychobilly height quiff is a millimeter short today-WAAH!"

Colin is wearing an Shlitz sweatshirt with perfectly tailored, buttock-cupping, narrow trouser--it's the height of "ha ha rawwwther St. Alban's school boy slumming it to dance with the French petite Bourgeoisie" fashion irony. Add to that perfectly timed lip-biting over fucked-up English teeth and lawd help me, I'm sticking to my chair.

Well, yes, the guitarist died of some horrible cancer a few years ago, leaving his wife or 30+ years (name-checked in The Zombies "Friends of Mine") and children behind, if that makes you feel any better. And Colin looks pretty much like a slightly more effeminate Bea Arthur.

And, David, you can to coiff! Lookie those curly, flowing locks. You're like a damned Breck girl.

I will fly over and punch you in the face (I love you; it won't be easy!) if you don't go see The Zombies. He STILL has "that voice." I swear, when I see him in NYC in July, I may not even have to wash a handful of valium down w/ten tequila shots in order to attempt to sit on his face. Once I hear that voice--esp. if I somehow ascertain that he's maybe perhaps looking at me (imagine that time Potsie brought Joanie on stage at Arnold's and sang only to her and she fell in love with him), I may need to be restrained.

He may look like this now (censored for your own protection; brace yourselves if you've recently eaten), but I'll be imagining this when I pounce his unsuspecting bones:

I hate like, time and the innate fragility of the human body. It's some bullshit.

I love it too! He's very insightful in his texts too. I think one of my favourite ever style images from there is this one:
http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/200 ... -york.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The second image, the close-up, ah! I come back to it again and again. I think it's what Scott talks about, the bold colours and crisp preppy that I love that is captured so well in that one image.

I will help redress the balance. Although I might make an effort and buy another jumper or something.

Does anyone else have to really fight the urge to post a picture of Frank Gallagher?

I know it's not funny, hence fighting the urge... hopefully having written this will have exorcised my desire.

As long as you're aware of that.

I think the real purpose of this thread is present for half a page, maximum, at a time. It's ok, I knew not to expect more, but I like that it is still vaguely on track. Woo!

If we're talking of ideals it would be something like this:

But in reality it's more like this:

But that's okay.

Malkmus is one of Marc Jacobs's "muses" and that's nothing to shake a stick at! He always looks fabulous.

I have imagined this dress in my dreams many, many times. It is my ultimate fantasy gown. Michelle Williams finds it (vitange Chanel it turns out), wears it, and looks perfect. Absolutely perfect.

I love this picture from The Sartorialist! I've 'done' outfits like these before but I love how this is done. The shape and length of the skirt is my perfect sort, with a more oversize croppet jacket on top, and flats. Love it! She looks polished but not boring.
