No, I don't think that's happened, but there are dresses made to look like fish scales. Here's a recent example:

Image

That style was also popular (in a baggier, sacklike way) in the '20s and '30s.

But the ocean is full of cool shit to wear. There have been no fish dresses, but of course we all know whalebones were used for building corsets. And pearls are (in my opinion) the nicest, most beautiful accesory a woman can own. I was watching "Lost" and a 1950's flashback had a lady wearing a hat made of starfish. We use sponges for bathing. Seaweed is used in like 1000 different beauty products. And finally, assholes and Bayou folk wear shark tooth necklaces like nothing I've ever seen.
Q: I know you are, but what am I?
A: A garbage man.

This reminds me of Germany's Next Top Model where they had a photo shooting and were dressed in fish skin, octopus arms and stuff like that (also chocolate and pasta...).
It was disgusting. And Heidi Klum (who hosts the show) said that all the food that they were using had gone off (yeah, right) so that noone would worry about the waste.
Anyway, here is a fish photo:

Yes! They are all real! The stench must have been unbearable. I think some of them nearly vomited in the studio.

Great. I am having dinner and now my own post makes me feel sick...

Oi! Arterton! NO!

I don't know what's going on here but it's certainly pretty awful, even in comparison with other premiere fashion mistakes. I don't know what sort of 'look' she goes for normally, having only really seen her in Tess, but she's far too pretty to be wearing an ensemble like this. I blame the stylist.

True DAT. It's not like she hasn't got the career or face to need it. It's a bit... Chantelle Houghton, n'est-ce pas?

Argh.

That all seems fine, doesn't it.

I dare anyone to picture google Bai Ling. That woman has the most insane dress sense ever. Also: Phoebe Price. It's Go Fug Yourself that introduced me to those ladies.

Now, some people I think probably do need help, but these girls on MTV? Lazy with absolutely no self-control. And never learned the concept of 'consequences.'

And they don't even look good! They're still wearing Uggs! The clothes they're buying instead of like, electricity make them look so, so gross. And that's what I can't get behind. Grossness for no reason.
EE! I've never seen this post and I've been spooging about True Life in another thread. I really love this episode. The mixture of schadenfreude, horror and antipathy that it induces in the viewer is quite a feat, especially considering all they're doing is buying clothes. And yet, I don't care about them at all! I feel bad that they have self-esteem issues but Christ, can they just not buy things? Can they just pay their rent instead? I can feel in myself that if I had plenty of money, I would be compulsively buying things all the time, because it's fun, but when I have no money I buy nothing and I feel fine about it. It's not really rocket science, is it?

What the fuck?

Angelina, do not party like it's 1999. Silver lip gloss still looks crap. It is not festive. Try a subtle shimmery highlighter instead please. KTHXBYE.

At least she didn't put on a dark lipliner first. That was the worst look ever.

Ok, um, NO in so many ways! I saw this ad today in a magazine I was reading:
Image
I'm sorry, WHAT? Since when is injecting shit into your face considered natural beauty? Sooooo fucked up in so many ways. Could they at least not have styled that model so that she did not look incapable of expressing anything, Botox-stylee... like, maybe someone that looks alive and not so damn submissive? "YES, INJECT ME, I AM SUCCUMBING TO SOCIETY'S DEMANDS OF ETERNAL CREEPY FAKEYOUTH BEAUTY!" EW EW EW. Fuck off JuvaDerm.

Ok, Heidi Klum, I know you're not known for your great taste but... really? If anything, I'd think you would NOT be the one who has to whack on the "fun" 80s punky prom dress with too many bright accessories and way too much tan and overcompensate. IF she took off half that make-up and wore her hair looser she'd look so much nicer. It's freaking me OUT.
Image
Sweet lord, Renée Zellweger looks positively LOONY and like she might gobble you right up, if she wasn't so damn emaciated:
Image
Ok yes yes, Marchesa, plunging neckline, blah blah blah. It's just been so DONE, also, I think 2008 has been ALL about not doing the overly "this could fall down and reveal my boobs, you think of this, yes?" kind of look, and I'll bet ya 2009 is the same. I feel like these should be luxurious curtains in one of Mariah Carey's homes:
Image
Oh Drew, normally I love you but NO on the hair. If you'd got it in your own size, that might've been good. It just looks fried like this. The Dior is heavenly though:
Image
Debra Messing, you are clearly a cutiepie. Something less... Simpsons make-up gun would have been so much softer. Damn you Rachel Zoe, this has you written all over it!
