Hair and beauty muses

Post by let it ride » Tue Sep 30, 2008 8:26 pm

Ok, if you are not a make-up and hair NERD, geddout. Or start your own separate thread to post "funny" pictures of Dee Snyder or something.

Ok so Scarlett Johansson, I love ya so much girl. She does the most amazing brave things with hair and make-up. In Celebland aka Safesville OR Bai Ling territory (I dare you to image google her) it seems there is no middle ground. But newly-wed Scarlett just does it with STYLE!! I love love lover her and I take inspiration in make-up and hair (and to some extent fashion) from her. Look!
Classic smoky eye:

Voluptous siren with wine-coloured lips and clean eyes:

My favourite look of hers for every day, soft marked coral lips and nice taupe/light goldy eyes:

Modern Marilyn:

Classic pin-up-y perky! And my favourite way of doing red lips: With a high ponytail and simple eye make-up

Soft make-up and an updo:

This to me is inspiration for my wedding hair at the moment. Vintage-y 40s, beautiful, soft-looking:

I often use Scarlett Johansson as inspiration too.

I'll get out now.

She looked nice in Lost in Translation but she's just looked too Hollywoodplasticface ever since then. Maybe that's just me, I dunno.

I think I've made an entirely valid contribution.

I like the 1940s one bestest. In some ways, I wish it still was the 1940s

Yes, this is not the "judge a face and then tell me if you personally enjoy it" thread, it's the "oh, that is a great eyeshadow, i bet i could do that!" inspiration-y thread.

Pablo, you are fine. You actually stayed on topic and in a nice way too. Kudos.

I am trying to find good pictures and tutorials now, there are tons online, on celeberity make-up. I find celebrity make-up more fun because fashion show make-up is often so abstract.

Moments after typing this a big chunk of one of my teeth chipped off.

Astrid has powers beyond our comprehension.

I'm never slagging the Christmas thread off again.

I have to! It is mayhem in here already. I may have to purchase some form of whip or something to keep people away. Or an angry guard dog.

Again, this is not the judge the face thread.

Do not act like this:

Stop hatin' y'all. KTHXBYE.

I do love Christmas and make-up very much. It just happens when I am enraged. Sorry Sam.

Great pics of Scarlett. I am loving the whole glamourous 1940s look right now. I want to get some rollers so I can wear soft wavy hair with a fascinator and bright red lips. Oh how I wish I could wear pretty vintage (or repro even - I'm not that fussy) dresses all the time with shiny locks and a perfectly painted face. Like that minx Dita von Teese. Ooh the lucky cow. Why don't I look like this when I don my corset and tie my hair back eh? (Don't answer that)
