Next, of all places, have just got a load of really lovely suit dresses in, all pinafore-style with buttons and such. I ended up with a fine grey plaid one with a very fine grass green through it, and a long-sleeved white blouse to wear underneath it.

If I may be so bold, I look the bizzness.

I bought this in the 25% off sale at Laura Ashley yesterday, for a wedding I'm off to this weekend.

It fits so nicely and is so comfy that I think I'll end up spending most of spring in it!

I don't suppose anyone has seen any nice dressy-up pink dresses on the high street lately? For some reason, there seems to be a distinct lack of pale pink dresses, suitable for bridesmaids. And what is it with all bridesmaids dresses being strapless these days? I'm looking for something '50s style, but preferably not strapless as I'm being a bit selfish.
Just be nice to me.

I know you're over in the UK, but I'm pretty sure Modcloth ships overseas. Hm. Anyway, they have a ton of realy cute stuff. Examples:

I don't know what your budget is but Coast have this for £115 (ouch) if you haven't spotted it:

At the other end of the scale, New Look:

(My understanding of the term '50s' might be entirely wrong!)

Hah, sorry Sarah, I also seem to have ignored the word 'pale' there.

BHS has this, don't know if it's 50s enough:

Thanks for your help girls! It looks like we're going for this M&S dress, which actually isn't as shiny in real life and actually pretty lovely:

Phew, I'm feeling a bit less stressed now that's sorted! That Betsy Johnson site is just dangerous, by the way. So many fun clothes...

Searching for anything in cream or white is the struggle of my life! I wear cream or white accessories almost exclusively and my god, we are not catered for. I had a hell of a time finding white fishnets. Took me about 2 months. Went to every high street shop, like every vintage shop or boutique in London too. My current pair got a hole in them. Found some crappy (non-used) ones at a vintage store that are well worn out. Guh.

I have some cream colored tights but they're thick cotton from the brand Falke. Let's see what Tabio have. No, they have similar patterned tights to what you're looking for but in beige. :-(

I would check the Falke brand online. Go into Selfridges as they have a big selection of many different brands of tights, from the cheap to the expensive. What other stores have big tights selections...?

In the states I used to get most of my tights from TJ Maxx and Marshall's. All the seasons old cast-offs that no one wanted for dead cheap. Do they have any of those in Canada?

Dear everybody,

I'm looking for five green dresses for bridesmaids. They need to look nice next to this one, and be less than £50 really (I got this one for supercheaps off Amazon - £20 reduced from £70!):

Image

They can be any evening/party/vaguely fancy style, really, I'm going for mismatched and cute. I'm struggling to find the right shades of green in the shops. I can wait, but seem to be trying to avoid uni work by wedding-planning.

Edit: yes, six bridesmaids. I am a horror. (Couldn't bear to make the decision of sister/best friend/four nieces-to-be)

That sounds an awful lot like me with the uni distraction, haha.

Green in general feels like such an elusive colour, I want to find the perfect green handbag but no luck so far. Also, as "fashion" dictates the cool thing to wear are wide crop tops (..!!) and harem jumpsuits. I actually had to gasp out loud in horror at some acid wash minidresses I saw the other day. The 90s are back, brrrrr.

Um, these are what I found...
Too casual probably:

Too Kelly green?

Dang, it's hard to find anything else! Debenhams have a boatload of green dresses but they're all so expensive. Perhaps you can find another colour/shade that goes with that green dress that's easier to find? My bridesmaids were totally half-matchy and it looked fine :)

LuLu's ships to the UK.. they have some cool stuff.. I don't know if the prices are better if you're paying in pounds. But, yeah. Here's a couple that might work:
