Haha! Well that's more realistic.

I think the people behind kittywigs.com are a bit wrong in the head. I mean, does anyone actually believe cats love jazz and can feel sexy, or sassy, or elegant? I thought they operated on more of a hungry/full, sleepy/alert, need to wee/had a wee basis.

Is there anywhere we can get a before picture too? Maybe of the original trousers from the shop they come from?
I got these back! I will take a photo if I can find a camera, but I like them. It was pretty cheap and the fabric pretty much matches (well, I mean, you can go far wrong with black, can you). It's not a huge flare or anything, just a bit more than bootcut. Tasteful, is the word I would use. Astrid may have another. Flared suit trousers and converse is all I'm wearing ever again.
the trouble with personalities, they're too wrapped up in style
it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

And rightly so!

I'm glad they came back well and that you are happy with them.

I look forward to seeing them.

Jonny, are you still wearing flares? I thought Astrid put you on a non-flares diet?

First thing when you get to Stockholm I am going to take you to Myrorna for some black jeans utan flare.

I am wearing cord flares right now.

Astrid's efforts have ensured I do have one pair of non-flared jeans and one pair of non-flared cords amongst my non-work-wear... but they are still a minority in flaresville.

As they're in a minority therefore, will they try to organise an uprising? A commustitch uprising against this clear flaresist state. And other weak trouser puns.

But yes, in answer to your inferred question, we can definitely do some boy-shipping.

Pardon?!

Do you mean boy-shopping? I don't think I'm allowed to boy-ship*

I think I would prefer Go Sailor instead, thangyewverymuch.

But shopping sounds jolly. Mind you, I will probably end up going to the library. That's what I always do when I go to town.

It is a wonderful library though, with its circular loveliness.

It's a belter. It's a belter. Though the new one they're gonna build near it to put the surplus books in is stirring up some muster, it has to be said. I think most of the controversy comes from the fact that it looks shit.

Edit point: this post has nothing to do with flares. Therefore, Stockholm's big library has the biggest and well regarded flares section on the northern seaboard.

I know... that new planned bit looks terrible, and so out of keeping with the loveliness which is there already. It's also going to dwarf the existing structure, and ruin it in its context. There was a much nicer plan which involved putting library-add-on inside a grassy hill... like a hobbit library, but this was not the plan they went for.

You'd better not be making up this flares section in an effort to stay on topic... you've got me well-excited now.

It does, it does. Fear not the worry that there is not a whole room full of indexed and archived flares.

I've just noticed that Astrid moderates this thread! How ironic!

I wish they would get rid of that stupid McDonald's that's outside the library first.

Yes! Thanks for noticing, that's why I started it in the first place. Ah, the look on her face.

I'm really looking forward to looking at these flares at the library now. I'm planning a good couple of hours of flare viewing. It's going to be the highlight of my trip.

I vote in favour of replacing that McDonalds with a fika-cafe.

You can also buy bookmarks from the library which use flare material. Unfortunately instead of saving your page, it covers the book.

See, jonny. See what happens when flares happen? Ignorance. That's what. The people can't read books now.

No, that's what happens when people do flares wrong. Stop doing flares wrong.

Right: Keeping books in voluminous flares for production at moments of boredom.
Wrong: Draping flares over books, those obscuring their words of knowletainment.

I admit this is a question of semantics.

(PS: That would be an ecumenical matter)

do you think you need to be a certain 'type' of person to wear flares? a few of my friends wear flares and i've always thought they looked super cool, but i don't think i would ever feel comfortable doing so myself. i think i couldn't help but adopt a 'look at me i'm wearing flares' persona, rather than the 'yeah i'm wearing flares, big deal' persona one should have.

what would be considered entry level flares? maybe i could start at cord flares and work my way up.

A first-time flares user should never exceed the 22-inch flare.
