Does anyone have room for a ginger person to sleep on their floor on the Saturday night? DM me if so.

don't take my ruthless criticism of everything that has ever existed as misanthropy. it comes from a place of love.

but if any fucker dares make any noise after 9pm i will smash them with my righteous camping mallet of justice.

i do hope the breakfast bap is back this year.

Due to a communication breakdown we have 6 pairs of ear plugs, so you are welcome to a pair. We're going to the old people field anyway, so hopefully everyone will be quiet and all we'll hear is the chronic breathing problems and seven wee trips a night of the elderly.

This is a stupid question but I'm trying to remember how good or otherwise travelodge is... do they provide towels? or do we have to bring our own towels?

I'm pretty sure there's towels. Wasn't planning on taking any anyway.

Good, I hate having to pack a towel to go home when it's still wet.

I now have full confirmation that while there may not be "loads of towels" there will be some towels.
Why don't we give you loads of towels?

Every room is given two towels except for single rooms where there is one. We believe this will meet our customer's needs but you are welcome to take any additional towels from reception if you wish. In order to continue delivering highly competitive pricing, we must constantly review operating costs to eliminate unnecessary spend. In addition, a reduction in the amount of items to be laundered is more beneficial to the environment.

Save Alfreton Little Chef! Erm, if it's likely to be closed down, which it probably won't be, being just off a motorway junction as it is.

i've read this topic through twice but i'm still slightly confused about exactly how far away it is, a couple of the posts seem to contradict themselves, or i may just be getting confused. Is it going to be silly money in a taxi back frmo the site to the Alfreton 'lodge on an early july evening? i was thinking maybe of walking to the site in the mornigns then getting a taxi back in the evening, is this an outrageous idea? actually as i can only do saturday and sunday i was thinking drive to the site for a few hours, drive to check in after 3, check in, walk back to the site then taxi later on. is this the idea of a crazed lunatic or perfectly do-able?

thanks.

You can walk between the Alfreton Travelodge and the entrance at Butterley station, but it's nearly two miles, so maybe fine on the way there, but less advisable on the way back. It's often possible to find someone to share a cab with and split the costs (about £5 per journey?), as lots of people stay at the Travelodge.

The main festival entrance (Butterley station) and the festival site itself (at Swanwick station) are at separate sites on the railway with the trains carrying people between the two (or you can walk along the path during the day). The taxis will only pick you up and drop you off from Butterley station nowadays as the lane is too narrow at Swanwick. There's regular trains taking people between the two stations until midnight.

thats brilliant, thank you. last time we at the Mansfield one, which was a mission and £20 in the taxi, this one sounds a lot easier going. a brisk walk in the morning / afternoon then a taxi back on the night. I'm in! I'll have a secret stash of Tunnocks Tea Cakes ready for the inevitable all night Tunnocks parties!
