I don't think you could call that hip-hop. You could, however call it ACE.

Always liked the Go! Team, but thought it was pretty seperate from my usual indiepop interests so I'm surprised but happy to see so many folk round here are fans.
Also, Be Like Pablo are the original Indietracks hip-hop band - they had a rap on the song they had on the comp!

Well, that's the thing about Go! Team isn't it, the first stuff I heard by them I thought was definitely hip-hop stuff, which is probably why I'm so ready to use the tag, but it seemed to fit in pretty easily with some of the indiepop stuff I listened to as well.

The point being, I can't really imagine any other bands on the bill (the ones I've heard of anyway) making a record with Chuck D and it not sounding out of place (which it doesn't at all), that said, I can't imagine Public Enemy doing a song like 'Fake ID' or 'Buy Nothing Day' (though I really wanna see Flav singing those), they're obviously indiepop. Which is why I said I thought they're a really good choice, it's our sort of thing, but it's a lot of other people's sort of thing an' all - inclusive.

I half knew if that post didn't just hang around like an unwanted kid at the football pick, someone'd call me on saying that they were hip-hop, I just didn't have anything better to do and I couldn't work up the requisite quota of shame to take it down.

It's really nice to read the positive comments about the line-up so far, thank you! We'll have some more bands to announce soon.

In the meantime, we're inviting applications for people to run art and craft workshops at the festival. In the past, we've had cupcake decorating, Lego album covers, fanzine making, puppets, cheerleading, Lindy Hop dancing and loads more.

If you'd like to apply, please have a look at the following and then drop Alice an email:

new Go Team record is really good. Jake from Eureka California is so stoked to get to see them and play at the same fest. I'm pretty excited for Cinerama, JUNK, Mammoth Penguins, Fireworks, Desperate Journalist, the School, and of course bringing over Bunnygrunt and Eureka. Also super excited to get to be there for both Saturday and Sunday this year.

Although the name sounded familiar I hadn't right away realised that they're of Rough Bunnies fame. Nice one!
