Boys can work the flare look, but they do not suit girls at all.

ha ha: getting clothing alterations done is the most grown-up thing in the world. i was all 'look at me, taking my new trousers to my jewish tailor, just like i'm an actual american adult', until i fucked it all up out of nervousness and erred half an inch on the side of caution (leaving the trousers frustratingly baggy even after alterations. and you can't possibly go back ...)

not to put you off.
(i think they'd be fine, or they'll at least tell you if they can do it).

I suppose the main question might be where they got the extra material from... although there might be enough material left on the far side of the hems.

Hang on a minute, I should make clear that I know nothing about tailoring or indeed sewing, so my comments are likely worthless.

I DID THIS. The tailor type person was very nice and all and made out like it was a completely normal thing to ask to get suit trousers flared. I get 'em back next Wednesday. How exciting.
the trouble with personalities, they're too wrapped up in style
it's too personal; they're in love with their own guile

Wow... we're going to need to see pictures of this you know... it is exciting. How much of a flare are you getting?

Is there anywhere we can get a before picture too? Maybe of the original trousers from the shop they come from?

Not in the slightest. It makes sense that the only people who still wear flares would be here, hence the equal hate/love thing. This is what I have been telling you for ages!

And a flared suit! You are shitting me. Your suits are lovely and unflared and don't go ruining them, they look so lovely!

I expect I am somehow in trouble for this. Astrid has a crusade against flares, starting with mine.

Of course you're not! I'm just kidding, in that "I kid about it because it's true and I feel mean saying it" kind of way. xxx

I preferred the Cat Wigs' earlier records, etc., etc.

wow, there is a definite wrongness there. I was sort of happier when I didn't know about cat wigs. But I guess those days are over now.

I'm getting a cat just so I can force it to wear one of those wigs.

Have you got one for Moppet yet?

Is it wrong to fancy the one in the blue wig?

Haha, Jonny said on the phone last night that he had ordered all but the blue. Not classy enough for Moppet.

Seriously, the descriptions are CREEPY:
Pink Passion

Pink is the color of fantasy. Our model, Chicken, looks like her mind is elsewhere when she wears this wig -- somewhere in a land of cotton candy and pinwheels where the air smells like sugar kisses.

Pink makes your kitty feel elegant, modern and quintessentially feline.
Um, because cats worry about being modern but even more about being FELINE? Doesn't that come with being a cat?
Bashful Blonde

Blonde is a magical mix of bashful and brazen. Fern shows off the many moods of a natural blonde: sweet yet catty, smart yet batty -- where life is alluring and coy. Now all she needs is a bikini and a Swedish accent.

Blonde sets off your kitty’s eyes and makes your kitty look tan.
MAKES YOUR KITTY LOOK TAN? They have fur. They don't GO tan. Unless they have tan fur.
Silver Fox

Silver is all about sophistication. Indoors or out, this wig takes Flash to a special place -- where everything is sleek and svelte, young and foxy.

Silver makes your kitty feel sexy and smart, like a cougar on the prowl.
Wrongness all over.

And for you, Sam:
Electric Blue

Blue is edgy and electric. In this wig, Chicken sports some serrrrious attitude – she’s thinking saxophones, smoke and snapping fingers.

Blue gives your kitty a sharp look -- jazzy and totally copacetic.
I bet Woody would love a blue wig!

He's sat next to me looking at that blue wig. With desire in his eyes.

Is he snapping his paws, with dreams of jazz and saxophones in his eyes?
